Plymouth Presbyterian Church Leadership & Staff

Plymouth Presbyterian Church is led by a team of ordained elders elected by the congregation. This group, with the pastor, is called the Session, and it makes the basic ruling decisions on behalf of the congregation's members. The Session committees and the ruling elders assigned to each are listed below.

The Plymouth Presbyterian Church Board of Deacons ministers to the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of our community by praying, listening, acting, and rejoicing to share the love of Jesus and build a stronger Christian community.

Pastor Joanna Hipp

Pastor Joanna grew up in North Carolina. She graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian University and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. After graduating from Louisville Seminary, Joanna spent a year as an intern with the World Communion of Reformed Churches in Hannover, Germany. In addition to her congregational work, she has held leadership roles at Montreat conferences, served as media relations chair of the Charlotte Clergy Coalition for Justice, and continues to serve at local and national levels of the PC(USA). Most recently, she served as Associate Pastor at Southport Presbyterian Church in Southport, North Carolina.


Joanna enjoys reading, playing board games, watching sports, and spending time outdoors outside church—especially by the water. Pastor Joanna looks forward to lake life and the excitement of Minnesota sports, with all its ups and downs.

While Joanna is in the office Monday through Thursday, she has dedicated office hours on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and can be reached anytime at pastor@plymouthpc.org or the church office at 763-559-2946.

Hannah Jusun Kim

Director of Music Ministries

Hannah (Jusun) began as the Director of Music Ministries at Plymouth Presbyterian Church in October 2018. She directs the PPC Choir and often sings while playing the various keyboards in our sanctuary. She worked at Golden Valley Lutheran Church and several other churches before coming to PPC. Hannah earned a bachelor of Music in Musicology and Music Composition from SungShin Women's University in Seoul, South Korea, a Master of Music in Music Composition and Theory at Texas State University-San Marcos, TX, a Master of Arts in Teaching in Music Education (K-12) at Augsburg University, and participated in the Doctoral Program (ABD, then dis continued) in Music Theory and Organ Performance at the University of Arizona. 

Hannah has played the piano since 1983 and the organ since 2009. She is currently a music specialist in the Shakopee school district. She loves musical ministry and enjoys teaching students in her private music studio (piano, vocal, and organ). She and her husband have two very blessed children, Eunice and Phillip.

Drew Becker

Office Administrator

Drew brings a diverse professional background to Plymouth Presbyterian Church. As the office administrator, she employs her organizational, communication, and managerial skills. Drew is a Jill, or in this case, "Emily," of all trades and appreciates many learning opportunities and time spent working alongside people of many cultures and backgrounds. She spent her most impactful and formative years at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.

While she was born in Minnesota and spent her childhood on the family farm, she and her family moved to North Carolina. She considers both states home and loves the water, lakes, beaches, and outdoors. She and her husband live in Loretto and have five adult and almost adult children, who are her joy. She enjoys fishing, mainly trolling for Northern Pike, reading, and animals. Drew serves on the executive board of Silver Buckle Saddle Club and has a passion for horses and serving others.
